Have you ever seen someone being so productive and enthusiastic that sometimes you don’t understand how they are being so hyperactive, good at what they do, and most importantly, happy? Well, it comes from practice. Practicing the following will take you there too but you need to give it time and effort. Let’s see how naturally productive and enthused people spend their day (ptss, personally I love numbers 2, 3, and 8).

- Exercise Daily
Daily exercising will put you in a good, refreshing mood as it releases good endorphins and increases the productivity of your brain. Productive people allocate time to do daily exercises since it’s good for their overall health as well. Aerobic exercises, even in low-intensity forms are proven to be very effective. So, give it a go.
- Focus on Being Happy
Happiness is a state of mind. Enthusiastic people focus on being happier and it makes them more productive. Studies suggest that, in the UK, happy people are 12% more productive than others. It will make you achieve a stable work-life balance. Leave the sadness behind and focus on more precious things, be ambitious, futuristic. Happiness will motivate you to become more productive. So, don’t let anything hold you back!
- Hit Pause
Productive people do not work continuously for hours and make themselves tired. Instead, they take breaks. After you finish a particular task, it’s refreshing to take a small break. If you are stuck in something and don’t see how to solve problems, you can take a break. Put it all behind and come back with a calmed mind. If you are working on a task which requires higher levels of attention, energy and focus for a prolonged period of time, it’s really wise to take a break. Otherwise, over time, it will make you lose your productivity.
- Unplug yourself
Although most of the jobs these days require you to be connected to digital sources, studies show that it can affect your productivity causing you fatigue and stress. Productive people on the other hand, stay with technology only when it’s necessary. Other times, they read books, take walks, talk with people and stay ‘connected’ on a whole other level.
- Break it Down
Productive people do not do everything at once. They break down their daily tasks into smaller objectives and complete them, one objective at a time. Multitasking slows you down and it consumes more time than it saves. So relax, do one task and only one task at a time. Give all your attention to that. Your output will be of quality that way. Just remember that, the more we multitask, the more we become inefficient.
- Sleep
If you are awake all night long to get something done, you are not productive, you are just messy and you lack management skills. Lack of sleep links with decreased productivity. Productive people take a full night’s sleep and wake up all fresh in the morning. Also, you might want to get rid of eating and drinking too close to your bedtime.
- Challenging Tasks
Productive and enthused people sort their most challenging tasks before lunch. It’s the time when your mind is more fresh and uncrowded. So it’s easier to tackle problems during those hours than after lunch. So, if you have tasks that seem more challenging, make sure you address them first.
- Meditation
Enthused people start their day with 10 minutes of meditation. Most successful people start their day by having coffee and meditating for several minutes in their room. It makes them more focussed, relaxed and healthy. By meditating, they concentrate their energies on their goals for the day. If you want to be more focussed and productive, meditating for a few minutes a day will take you there.
- Distractions
One of the greatest obstacles we face today are daily distractions. Social media, mobile phones, etc. are more like distractions when we are at work. Productive people tend not to use social media when they are at work. Instead, they use Facebook and other social media when they take a break. Apart from that, productive people do not even listen to music with lyrics because people tend to lose concentration and focus when they listen to heavy lyrics (This may not be true for everyone). So, they listen to music which can calm their minds and release stress (You will find many music videos on YouTube for this kind of music).
- Breakfast
It’s just like your mother said. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Don’t skip it, productive people don’t. A healthy breakfast keeps you productive and your brain active. Skipping your breakfast can destroy your productivity because you don’t have the stomach for it, literally!
Besides the discussed points, taking naps, avoiding lengthy meetings and briefings, replying to emails timely, using a to-do list, etc. can also make you achieve high levels of productivity and enthusiasm. And after all, it’s all about managing your time. So, try these tips and analyze how productive and enthused they can make you!
Now tell me in the comments, which of these habits will you try first?
With love,
Karen.
